Statement
Vancouver's physical, climatic, and socio-political geographies create a psychological confinement, alienating its own citizens while maintaining a glossy exterior. I am constantly on the lookout for the subtle eccentricities that exist within the straightforward city grid, the little traces of narrative evidence that speak of someone else's urban experience.
The Vancouver school of photography itself has turned into a canonical regime; as a response, I have created an irreverent body of work that is intimate and personal. There is still much beauty existent in this constantly changing city, despite all its sterility, gentrification, and monotony.
